Seoul Subway Line No. 9 is a relatively recent open route than other lines. It also has express trains and is notorious for being the busiest subway in Seoul. Avoiding the rush hour time zone, especially, would be good for a comfortable trip.

Line 9 is one of the lines that notorious for the rush hour. According to Korean Broadcast (KBS), degree of congestion in line 9 was 248% in 2013, which 230% is the maximum. To avoid this, I recommand you not to take subway during the rush hour (A.M. 7:20 ~ 9:00, P.M. 4:00 ~ 7:00).
