SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Seoul National University was established in 1895. Official opening date was 1946 October 15. During Japanese colonial era, the name of this uinversity was Keijō Imperial University. When Korea was ruled by US military government, Keijō Imperial University has changed to Seoul National University. Throughout the years, many departments of knowledge has been opened. 1971, a poet ,who was a student of this university at that time, wrote a poem called "The temple of the burning light". This poem is extremely famous that became one of the symbols of the university.
